Vision
What are we all about?

WE EXIST TO GUIDE PEOPLE ON THE JOURNEY TO FOLLOW JESUS

If you want to understand our vision, you need to understand what we believe following Jesus is all about. Jesus said “Follow me!” When He spoke these words, what did He mean? He was not offering an invitation to a destination, rather it was an invitation to a relationship with a Person who would radically change one’s way of life.

What was true then is true today. Christianity is not a religion, but a relationship with Jesus which results in radical life change. Following Jesus is the heart of Christianity. As we study Jesus in the New Testament, we find that his life was all about relationships. First, his relationship with the Father, second, his relationship with his disciples, and third, his relationship with the people who didn’t know God at all.

So what does the life of a Jesus follower look like? Answer: relationships. At Valley Life Church, we use three key words to describe these relationships...

GOSPEL.

A follower of Jesus connects with Christ personally and daily.

FAMILY.

A follower of Jesus connects in community both in large group and small group.

KINGDOM.

A follower of Jesus engages in the mission locally and globally.

The life of a Jesus follower is all about relationships!

So how you deepen these three relationships and grow as a follower of Jesus? Answer: The same way you deepen any relationship—TIME. We say a starting place but not an ending place is to adopt the 5% Life.

  • God Time - 1% of Your Day in Relationship with God

    • Approximately 15 Mins a day in intimate fellowship relationship with the Father through prayer and reading of the word.

  • Gather Time - 1% of Your Week in Relationship with Other Believers

    • Approximately 1.5 hours a week gathering with others from from my church.

  • Group Time - 1% of Your Month Your Week in Consistent Community

    • Approximately 6-7 hours a month spent consistently in community with others from my church family.

  • Go Time - 2% of your  Year spend Living on Mission

    • Approximately 6-7 days spent annually going/living on mission with God cross culturally.

What is someone on the journey following Jesus?

A follower of Jesus encounters Christ daily, connects in community, and engages in the mission.

Values

Why are we doing this?

We believe that values drive our decisions, and decisions shape our lives! Underneath our mission to guide people on the journey to follow Jesus, we strongly value a few things you’ll see in every area of Valley Life Church.

  • God Dependence - "Apart from God we can do nothing”

  • Real Relationships - "Life of a follower of Jesus is all about relationships.”

  • Generous Living - "We live life with an open hand, ready to make a difference in others lives.

  • Kingdom Expansion - "We desire to join God in what He is doing all around the world."
